Mature tree removal may be necessary to help reduce risk. As a tree approaches the end of it’s life expectancy, limb failure is common. Fast growing trees, such as bradford pears, often mean a short life. Fast growth also typically results in weak structure. Limb failure alone can cause damage. However, a secondary issue with limb failure is the wound it creates which acts as an entry point for insects and decay. Mature tree removal requires assessments to determine the trees integrity prior to removal. If a tree is unsafe to climb and/or rig out of then alternate methods need to be utilized.
